Preparations for Valentine’s Day

Since I have no significant other, for me Valentine’s Day has always been a bit boring. However, As we approach Valentine’s Day, I find myself wanting to do something different. In all the anime I’ve watched and from what I know about Japan, I know that girls make their own chocolate to give to their special someone or their friends. So this year, I’ve decided to try making my own chocolate treats (although their only for my parents since they’re the only ones I see on Valentine’s Day…).

So far, I’ve come across three recipes I’d like to try, although that might be a bit too much chocolate, so I’m thinking of limiting it to two. I know I want to make some chocolate filled with popping candy, and then I also want to try making some truffles. I had two recipes for truffles though, so I’m still deciding which recipe to use. I have an official lindt recipe, and then I have a fairly easy one from this blog I follow. I’m thinking of using the easy recipe, but I still have a week to decide XD. Whichever recipe I do not use, I plan to try it at a later date. Maybe Mother’s Day? It’s a possibility.

My kitchen is going to be so messy next week… since I only have one metal bowl to use as a double boiler, I’m thinking of making the chocolate a few days early, and then making the truffles the night before Valentine’s Day.  I just have to wait for my popping candy to arrive in the mail XD.

I’ll probably make a post next week on how these turn out!
